We are here to present the third edition of Sunrise Baketball Camp. A campus where all activities are conducted in English, with the presence of English coaches from Manchester and Newcastle. The campus is in an unbeatable natural environment: La Cerdanya.
After the success of the first two editions, we have the strength to continue working and have all the children who sign up enjoy each activity, improve their basketball and English, share experiences, make new friendships and learn the values that involves practicing a sport as a team and living with colleagues.
We are preparing trainings, competitions, leisure activities, night games, excursions and other surprises to set the bar a bit higher.
This year as a novelty, in addition to the 3 weeks of Martinet, we will go to Scotland to hold two basketball camps at two prestigious universities, at the University of St. Andrews and at the University of Dundee. The goal is to make language immersion a higher challenge for all participants.
The participants of last year already know me; I am a basketball player from La Seu de Urgell (1994), currently I play at Barça CBS. I was formed as a player at Sedis Bàsquet , I have also played at Femení Sant Adrià (2012) , at Lima Horta (2013-2016), the Northumbria Team of Newcastle (First English Division 2017) and the CB Almería of the Women’s League 2. I have a degree in Food Engineering from the UPC, I have a master’s degree in sports management and management and this course I am student first course of CAFE in Blanquerna. I am also a basketball coach and I have been trained in the field of personal training.
For me basketball is not just a sport, it’s also a lifestyle; a way to improve and share. I could not contemplate a summer without participating in a basketball campus. Before I did it as a participant, in Catalonia, Spain or the United States. Now I do it as a coach and together with all the Staff we are preparing activities for all of you. Always with the same illusion.
From my point of view, I think it is essential to master a foreign language and we have thought that living in a campus where the language in which the activities are carried out is English is the best way to learn while playing.
We can guarantee, and those who know us know, that all the Staff will put their 100% so that the experience of their children is unforgettable.
We will count one more year with the inestimable professionalism of the English coaches Rob Farley, Nicoletta Fong Lyew Quee, Danny H Darrington and Rachael Bland who want to share these days with all of you.
We want to play basketball together with you and have a great time !!!
See you all this summer!
Clàudia Baraut, Camp director
